If you own a jetski or personal watercraft (PWC) in the Auckland, Bay of Plenty and Northland regions, it must be registered with AT's Harbourmaster.
Note: If a six digit number is already displayed on the jetski or PWC, this means it is already registered and does not require a new registration. See transferring jetski registration.
AT's Harbourmaster manages jetski registrations in Auckland and Northland and Bay of Plenty. These registration numbers begin with a '1'. Waikato jetski registrations (Including Taupo) begin with a '9' and are managed by the Waikato Regional Council.
Note: If the jetski is carried on board a foreign flagged visiting vessel do not use this portal instead contact the Harbourmaster's Office for instruction.

What is a personal watercraft?
A jetski or personal watercraft is a power-driven vessel with a fully enclosed hull. It does not take on water if capsized and is designed to be operated by a person standing, sitting, or kneeling on it.
Registering a jetski
Registration is a one off process for the lifetime of the PWC. Register to use PWC in Auckland, Northland, Bay of Plenty or Waikato.
Transferring registration
When you sell or buy a jetski, you will need to transfer the registration to the new owner.
