23 March 2016 - Proposal to grant a community lease - Old School Reserve, Mangere-Otahuhu Local Board (closing date: 4 May 2016)

Auckland Council invites submissions or objections from persons with an interest in Old School Reserve in the Mangere-Otahuhu Local Board area.

The portion of Old School Reserve, 283-289 Kirkbride Road, Mangere being described as Lot 1 DP204827 and contained in NA133B/236 being 2.1938 hectares, is held by Auckland Council in fee simple and subject to the Local Government Act 2002.

Auckland Council proposes to grant a new community lease to Cook Islands Ta’okotai’anga Charitable Trust for part of Old School Reserve comprising:

  • an agreement to lease for 436m2 (approx.) of the land for a term of two years with a one-year right of renewal to enable the Trust to give detailed design of facility, location, vehicle access, parking and to obtain funding and all regulatory consents to construct an early childhood education centre
  • a lease for 436m2 (approx.) of the land for a term of ten years commencing from the completion of the build of the early childhood education centre and date of issue of the building certificate of compliance. The lease contains one ten-year right of renewal.
