13 April 2017 - Proposal to grant community leases and licences to occupy

Auckland Council invites submissions or objections from persons with an interest in the following reserves in the Rodney Local Board area.

Riverhead War Memorial Park, 1087 Coatesville-Riverhead Highway – containing 6.17 hectares and comprises five individual parcels of land. The reserve land is held in fee simple by council under the provisions of Reserves Act 1977.

Council proposes to grant a new community lease on a portion of Lot 2 DP 55325 to Riverhead Playgroup Incorporated for the council-owned pavilion and a non-exclusive licence to occupy for 31m² (more or less) of reserve land. The term of the proposed lease and licence to occupy is five years with one five year right of renewal. A new community lease to the Playgroup will allow its continued occupation of and activities undertaken on the land.

Glasgow Park, 69 Muriwai Road, Waimauku -  containing 3.8868 hectares. The majority of the reserve land is held by the Crown through DOC and vested in council, in trust for local purpose and recreational purposes.

Council proposes to grant a new community lease to Te Akoranga Playcentre Association Incorporated for a 160m² (more or less) portion of Section 8 SO 315586. The term of the proposed lease is 10 years with one 10 year right of renewal. A new community lease to the Playcentre will allow its continued occupation of and activities undertaken on the land.

Blomfield Reserve, 71 Pollard Lane, Waimauku – containing 8.8389 hectares and comprises one parcel of land described as Section 1 SO 356956. The reserve land is held in fee simple by council under the provisions of the Reserves Act 1977.

Council proposes to grant an agreement to lease to the Scout Association of New Zealand for 2,070m² (more or less) of reserve land. The term of the proposed agreement to lease is three years. An agreement to lease will allow Scouts to seek funding, all necessary consents, relocate its scout hall to the site, improve and extend the existing driveway and construct a parking area adjacent to the hall. 

Council proposes to grant a new community lease to the Scouts for 300m² (more or less) for the footprint of its relocated scout hall, the commencement date on satisfactory completion of its site works.  The term of the proposed lease is 10 years with one 10 year right of renewal. A new community lease to the Scouts will allow its occupation and accommodate its growth in the area.

Council proposes to grant a new non-exclusive community licence to occupy to the Scouts for 1,770m² (more or less) of reserve land for the improved existing and extended driveway and parking area adjacent to the hall, the commencement date on satisfactory completion of its site works. The term of the proposed licence to occupy is 10 years with one 10 year right of renewal. A new community licence to the Scouts will allow its occupation of and activities undertaken on the land.
