Auckland Council invites applications from community groups and organisations interested in developing and managing a new youth centre at the former RSA building, 2 Mary Poynton Crescent, Takapuna.

To be eligible to apply your organisation must be an incorporated society or registered charitable trust and fit the criteria in the Auckland Council Community Occupancy Guidelines 2012.

Applicants will:

  • be required to refurbish the property to accommodate a number of youth services, with a specific focus on youth innovation, training and employment
  • have a proven track record in the development and management of a facility of this type
  • be able to demonstrate how they will deliver or coordinate the provision of a range of services for youth and also have the ability to broker relationships that could include other not for profit organisations, local businesses or education providers as and when required
  • provide information on how it intends to measure the effectiveness of these services and programmes and how they align with the objectives stated in the Devonport-Takapuna Local Board Plan.

It is expected that youth will be involved in all decisions relating to the development, use and management of the facility and applicants should specify how this will be encouraged and accommodated in any business or strategic plan put forward for consideration.
