Apply for an event permit


How to apply for an event permit

You need to apply six to eight weeks before your event date. To apply:

  1. Check if a permit is required, see Do I need an event permit?
  2. Apply online (log in) or contact us to speak to an event facilitator.

Approval of your application

If approved, we will send you your permit.

If declined, we will contact you and let you know why.

Event permit fees

Fees apply from 1 July and include GST.

Event funded by council or local board

Other community event 

High (over 5000 people)




Medium (501-4999 people)




Low (under 500 people)
