How to order a Land Information Memorandum (LIM)

You should know

We will not be issuing LIMs from 5pm, 21 December 2023 to 7 January 2024.

To receive a LIM before 22 December, you will need to place an order before:
  • 5 December 2023 for standard LIMs
  • 14 December 2023 for urgent LIMs.
LIMs ordered on or after these dates will be issued from 8 January 2024.

How to order a LIM

We only accept online LIM applications. 

If you cannot apply online, you can visit one of our libraries with council services to get help with your application.

How long it takes to receive your LIM

  • Standard LIMs take up to 10 working days.
  • Urgent LIMS take up to three working days.

Processing time for LIM applications

We start processing your application the next working day after you submit your application.

For example, if you apply for a LIM on Friday, we start processing your application on the following Monday.

How to cancel a LIM

  • Urgent LIMs cannot be cancelled.
  • We do not provide refunds for an urgent LIM order.

​How to pay for your LIM

You can pay via:

  • online EFTPOS
  • credit card
  • debit card
  • Account2Account (not available for urgent LIMs).

If you pay by credit or debit card, a 1.75 per cent payment fee is added at the checkout.

You can also set up a customer account if you regularly request work from us on credit terms.

Order online

​How you will receive your LIM

We no longer offer a hard copy service.

We will email you a link to the digital copy of your LIM and a token key to access the file.

The link will expire 28 days from the issue date.

What to do if your digital LIM expires

If the link to your digital LIM expires, you need to apply for a new LIM and pay another fee.

What to do if you don't receive your digital LIM

Check your email junk folder if you do not receive your digital LIM.

If you cannot find the digital LIM in your junk folder, email lims@aklc.govt.nz with a copy of the confirmation email you received.

What to do if your token key is not working

Email lims@aklc.govt.nz with a copy of the confirmation email you received.
